A LOVELY REVIEW:

I received this lovely email from a gentleman who attended my Queensland Society Of Magician's Lecture last Monday evening. I have been given permission to use it as a testimonial.

Dear Joel,
What a great honour it was to meet you for the first time last evening and for the privilege of attending your wonderful lecture / performance at the Q S M.

On behalf of the society, I would like to thank you sincerely for making the flight to Brisbane and to share with us what proved to be a truly thoroughly enjoyable evening. Your performance and lecture was excellent where you shared so much of your material so freely and unassumingly. You covered a
great deal of information that you have obviously gained over your many years of being a professional entertainer, yet did not hesitate in sharing this knowledge and expertise with us. Even your lines and patter were really good. (I just hope members won't steal some really good lines)

By beginning with an impromptu performance certainly set the scene for the evening. Then an explanation of your effects was very comprehensive. Not only were the more senior members of the society thoroughly entertained but our younger members were in complete awe of your fine presentation. Your choice of material was first class and ideally suited to the cross section of members. One doesn't always need large flashy props because your presentation
showed that it is the performer and not his props that are the entertainment.

I loved your beautiful billiard ball, routine so superbly performed that for me was pure theatre. How you managed to manipulate such large balls is beyond me and was so impressed with this lovely interlude of skill and expertise blended into such a delightful performance. This is something
quite unique.

It was good hearing you speak so well about Jim and Gwen and their influence on your career and can only agree that I really enjoy their company when they visit Brisbane. It was good to see his research and being a magical historian being recognised. We are so fortunate to belong to such a
wonderful fraternity.

Joel may I wish you continued success with your magic career and thank you again for sharing with us as you did last night. It will be a night to remember and to inspire all of us (even this old fellow) to strive and to work towards making magic an even more acceptable art from. Despite my age, I still remain  passionate about magic and it is people like yourself that encourage us. You are indeed a credit to the profession. Well done.

Kind regards David J.
