A VERY AUSTRALIAN VERSION OF THE INDIAN ROPE TRICK!

Happy Australia Day Everyone!

Here is a very "Aussie" version of The Indian Rope Trick - A feat of magic that many magical scholars have argued over the years "could not be done".
With the help of my dear old friend and mentor Jim Mc Keague we performed this mystery successfully on the Atherton Tablelands of Far North Queensland and instead of a small Indian boy climbing the rope we used a "Tree Roo".
A Tree Roo looks like a Kangaroo but is the size of a possum. It is not an endangered species but they are threatened due to loss of habitat, attacks from domestic dogs etc.
"Zoe" the Tree Roo that was assisting me enjoyed the experience and no training was needed as the animals natural instinct is to climb to the highest point - climbing to the top of a rope was a perfectly natural exercise for her.
A couple of things to note when looking at the photos below:
- The lady in the photo with me is Dr Karen Coombs. She is the world's leading expert on Tree Roos.
- The photo in the field shows me making the rope rise in an empty space with no trees or buildings assisting me in causing the magical effect to happen.
- These pics are not 'photo shopped'.
